I think i touched a nerve with some of you. My wife would tell you im a great husband and a great dad. I can only imagine what you have to go through, and believe me i couldnt do it. Christ i cant even handle a runny nose and sore throat, lol . She says that i couldnt be more suportive, and if it wasnt for me she would never have got through our sons first few weeks with us. She had him at 27 weeks, he weighed 2lb when born, and spent 3 months in scbu. he had 2 operations, 4 blood tranfusions and died in my wifes arms twice. However hes now 2, his names ben and hes doing really well. The consultant says hes almost caught up, and cant believe his progress.

I read your original question and I can understand why some women could be a little peeved. It's really not that bad and you pretty much answered your question by posting it on here, most of the people on this particular site ARE women that ARE pregnant. So if you think you're wife is complaining, you shouldn't have posted about it to more pregnant women who would tell you that you are wrong. The hormones of pregnancy increase moodiness and yes some pregnancies suck because you are sick and constantly tired and sore, but others are great and nothing is bad. All pregnancies are wonderful though. I'm just sorry that you got such a bad rap for that last question because you sound like a very good father. Just blame it on the hormones and the increased rage towards men, after all you hear women screaming "you did this to me" in the movies with pregnant women. I have one daughter and I'm expecting #2 so I have gone through it. Congratulations on your new child and best of luck with Ben! Please don't take their anger seriously because you know in your heart that you are a GREAT father.

Keep up the good work, Daddy. Don't know what this was about, but I'm sure you're a great father and husband!! Congratulations on such a successful little fighter as a child, I've got one of my own (heart disease, had 1 open surgery and will get the next in a month). Always have faith in God and everything will work out. Good luck!

Rich - I'm sure you're a good dad and hubby.

I'm 32 weeks pregnant with my first baby and suffering badly from constant nausea, tiredness and panicking about the birth. My BF often tells me to "stop being silly" and "stop worrying about it" asnd laughs about "what a fuss I make"but I don't feel resentful at all about this. It actually HELPS for him to say those things because it helps me calm down and get things in perspective.

I'm terrified of the birth, and he's really looking forward to it - when I go on and on about "what if this happenes what if that happens I'm so scared" he just says "stop being silly, you'll be fine" and because he beleives it, it makes me beleive it too, if that makes sense.

Sometimes women who are finding pregnancy hard to deal with need a down to earth approach like that. If my BF got all upset and worried everytime I had a twinge or felt a bit ill it would make me sooo much worse! The fact that I can ring him up panicking about the birth or something and he'll just say "you're fine, stop worrying" makes me relax and realise that I'm just getting myself into a state and need to relax!

Obviously, he does take things seriously and if there are any real concerns (like the baby not moving as much etc) he takes me straight to the doctors or the hospital for a check. But his lighthearted, down to earth attitude has helped me so much.

I answered your question about pregnancy and didn't think you was being unsupportive. I took it that you was just trying to understand what we have to go through. My husband was the same he was very supportive through my pregnancy and just wanted to know what it was like.
Glad your son is getting stronger, my friends second baby was born at 1lb10oz and is now coming up to two and is doing really well.

Hey RIch,
Sorry if you think you touched a raw nerve, us girls are very protective of each other!
My last was very poorly when born, not breathing, that sort of thing, you know very small and delicate. The little bugger even stopped breathing when his siblings came to visit causing mass panic!!!! My hubby, like you was very supportive, thank you sensitive chaps. Congrats againxxx
