you will never go wrong with Martin Brodeur (NJ) for goalie.
Jaromir Jagr RW (NYR)
Joe Thornton C (SJ)
Brendan Shanahan LW (NYR)
Niklas Lidstrom D (DET)
Scott Niedermayer D (ANH)

others; Ovechkin, Crosby, Kipper, Heatly, Marion Hossa, Kovalchuk, Visnovsky, Luongo,

Havlat?? When you can pick from Crosby, Ovechkin, Thornton, Jagr??? If you have the first pick, I say you get Crosby. He scored 102 points last year and he was just a rookie. This year he's going to be better because he's got some experience and also Malkin's playing with him so I think he'll get more points than Ovechkin. If you don't get Crosby, you can choose from Ovechkin, Thornton, Jagr or Eric Staal. If you want the goalie with the most wins, get Kiprusoff or Brodeur. Kipper's emerging as the league's number one goalie while Brodeur currently has 10 straight seasons with 30+ wins. If you can't get either one of them, consider Martin Gerber of Ottawa or Cam Ward of Carolina. As for defence, the best pick would probably be Nicklas Lidstrom. He's coming off a Norris-winning season and he's a strong contender to win again. Meanwhile Niedermayer and Pronger are playing with each other now. They should make a great combination, especialy on the PP. If you want a young guy, pick Dion Phaneuf. He's 21 and he's already one of the league's best defensemen. He's been compared to Bobby Orr and Scott Stevens for his puck-moving abilities and hard checks. Zubov, Redden, Chara and McCabe are good picks as well. Good luck.

For goalie, I'd go with Marty Turco. When the Stars played the Devils this past weekend, we got 3 shots past Brodeur (not that that really means anything cause Brodeur is still an amazing goalie). But Turco had 19 saves that game - he's done an outstanding job of helping his team win their games thus far, even making an awesome pass to assist in scoring a goal their season opener.

DO NOT PICK Havlat because he is too injury prone and there are a lot better players than him early in any pool.

Thornton,Ovechkin,Crosby,Stall,Hossa,Kovalchuk are all good early picks.

Guys like Briere,Elias,Jagr and Gaborik are also good but a little more injury prone than the first group.

Brodeur,Kiprussoff,Vokun,Miller and Fernandez are good picks for goalies since they get the bulk of their teams starts.

Anaheim and San Jose have lots of good young players who may have good seasons so look for some good mid to late picks like Bernier,Michalek,Kunitz,Perry,Penner and Getzlaf for forwards.

Also watch Kopitar of LA and Semin of Wash.

For late D men GRAB Carle of SJ and Kronwall of Detroit and keep an eye on Webber of Nashville.

Those 3 will be stars in the near future
