Without sounding too philosophical...I think the point of the show is to get the audience "LOST"...as the series goes further, less and less seems to make sense.
Take last night's episode for example. Jack is told by Ben (formerly known as Henry Gale) that he has lived on the island his whole life. You see, the point is to stop asking questions about what is presented to you and start figuring out what is being said...
Most recently, we know that the Others, know just about all there is known about all of the castaways. Either by documents or by watching them on closed circuit TV. We now know there is a third group of people on the island...the boy in the cage across from Sawyer and the girl where Kate's new dress came from. That means Ben has other enemies on the island.
We know the Dharma Initiative on the island is a fact. Desmond was a victim of it, Locke, Mr. Ecko and Hurley all have witnessed what the hatch was capable of. The key is to figure out exactly what the purpose of the Dharma project is...and how do the Others fit into it. I think once this is discovered, all of the answers won't be far behind.
We know that barring some additional circumstances, when you attone for what you did in your flashback, you die. Although noone wants to believe they are "really" caught in purgatory. That would just be too weird. I imagine this is going to be true with the Others also.
Start putting the pieces together....

I love Lost. I was in Honolulu on vacation last week, and they happened to have the season 3 premiere with all the stars there. I snuck around the back, to where they were leaving after the show, and not only did I see Sawyer, Jack, and Kate from a few feet away, but I actually got to touch and take pictures with Jorge Garcia and Dominic Monahan!
I think the show just keeps getting better and better with each episode!

I'm a fan still, but like you, it's starting to wear thin. I still blieve it's a scientific experiment (read through the Answers for today, I've answered a few); but if they don't start ANSWERING a few questions instead of just adding more, it's going to be over. It's one thing to have mysteries, but they've let too many things drop without explanation or even acknowledging they were there in the first place. They'd better watch out for Heroes, because it's the kind of show Lost fans would like - and right now it's got Lost beat to hell and back.

I love me some Lost. Man that was a good one last night too. Just think the others come and go as they want to civilization. Who are these people? I don't know what is happening, but I am watching to see...

the plot itself is getting LOST with all these new developments...
it really is gettin on my nerves...
i swear when sun found out she was pregnant and last season they made it look like jin IS the father, but after last night's episode...i'm like WDF?!?
why do they always do this to us?!? i wish it would hurry up .n. finish already b/c the suspense is killing .n. the fact that the others have contact with the outside world is kinda strange... i just hope they start picking up the pieces from the season finale and show what's happened with the penelope finding the signal (and maybe location?) of the island...that's what i want to see.

I've been watching since day 1, too. I'm taking a break from guessing and trying to figure out all of the clues...I'm just watching for now!!

Well I think this season is starting off slow, you are right, it is getting on my nerves too, but I think that is how they get us to watch week after week. I still love Jack and Sawyer.

I love it. Wish I knew what the heck was going on. That's what makes it so appealing though, makes you want to tune in week after week to see what's going to happen next.

i havnt seen it in a while, and when it first came out I missed the first few eposiodes, however, I was completely lost watching it, but it was very addicting-

LOVE IT!!!! My theory is that Jack is going to have to operate on the girl that Sun shot.
