When booting in SAFE MODE..Under "Compaq Owner" it indicates that there are "2 new messages"....

I have a Compaq and do weekly scans in SAFE MODE and have never seen a message like that.

This could be caused by a full Browser Cache. Try cleaning it and see if this message goes away.

The only other thing I can think of is the Yahoo Beta Mail. There seems to be many people that have this program telling them they have emails. When they check they find nothing. I direct them to the Yahoo Beta Mail feedback to tell the Mail Team. The problem is usually fixed quickly. If you have Yahoo Mail you might try this and see if this message goes away.
