It is normal for you to swell while pregnant. Some don't until the end of their pregnancy, some swell during the whole process. Some tricks are to be sure you take off your rings while you still can, if not it can become painful (i know by experience:=) also try to stay out of heels and keep you legs elevated when possible. You can also drink water with lemon in it. It helps to keep you body from holding so much water. Good luck!

I've had 4 kids. Anytime you're pregnant, don't mess with swelling. Go check with the dr. Some swelling is normal with pregnancy, but I think 11 weeks is a bit early for a lot of swelling. Don't fool around being embarrassed to ask too many questions of the dr. That's what you pay him for. Get it checked out.

Great question! I am 11.5 weeks pregnant and I have swollen hands, too! I haven't been able to wear my engagement and wedding bands, either, which has made some men at work wonder if I am getting a divorce. Ugh!

I figured it was just from retaining water, just like always happens to me right before my menstrual cycle. I hope yours goes away.

call the doc, because there is something called Toxemia that some women get that causes your body to swell........I am not sure if it is typically towards the end of the pregnancy, but it's not safe for you or the baby. So check just to make sure...it could just be extra water retention

You get swollen from time to time during pregnancy. Although this is pretty early.

you OB"s office has an on call number that you can phone any time of day or night with any kind of rediculous question. I suggest you become familiar with it, since you can bet you'll be using it :)

you retain a lot of water when you are pregnant and that is probbaly what it is. that and if you use your hands a lot that will cause them to swell, oh and if you don't use them and jsut let them hang will do it also. don't worry too much unless you can poke at it and the indention stays there, then you need to go to the ob asap

You need to call your doctor. Swelling is a sign of toxemia and preclampcia and it can be dangerous to you and your child. The quicker you can get on top of this if it is one of those two the better you doctor can keep control of it and treat it and the less danger you and your child will be in.

Your body may be absorbing extra water. Just keep an eye on it and if you don't experience more serious symptoms, just voice your concern to your Dr at your next appt.

Congrats by the way!!

that happened to me alot during my pregnancy, i assumed mine was coming from being hot even though its fall outside. When my hands or feet get really hot they start to swell up and feel really tight. relax though alot of unusual things happen in pregnancy especially at the beginning when your body is trying to get use to the changes.

Pregnancy bloat is common, although many women experience it in their ankles and face. Try to increase your water intake for a few days and see if that helps.
