It is you who are simply wrong!! AND very ignorant.. at least I hope it's ignorance. Ignorance can be cured with education... but stupidity is a lifelong sentence! I am heterosexual, but I understand that homosexuality is not a disease. It is the result of normal feelings that some people experience. They have no contrrol over it. It is normal for them to feel as they do. They have no choice.

There is not a civilization on earth that has not had homosexuals in their societies. It was accepted in most. The Greeks, Romans, Japanese, and the American plains Indians are a few examples.

Our loving Western Christian society, however has chosen to brand this behavior as un-natural, and an abomination before God. So be it!! As such, society will have to eventually accept this behavior. It may take many more decades, but times are always changing.

You are the reason some people hide their true orientation, and as a result suffer a lifetime of misery. While gay men stay in the closet, they cannot live a fulfilling life.

True, the mental cripples of the world such as you may take a baseball bat to them simply for who they love - for no other reason than that they are different to you. But at least out of the closet, they are free to express their emotions and receive love freely given.

Yes, bullies and bigots make life a little less enjoyable for all of us. Fortunately, they are almost never happy themselves, because they are caught up in the negative energy of hate. That means they can't form really loving relationships, can't know truly close friendships, and never taste the joy that is in this world for all of us if we just stop and look around us. I would far rather be gay than be you.

Being gay is like being born. Who has a hold over it? The losers always think that "Guys must love gals"... Whats important in a relationship? Love? Or the SXX ORGAN? It all started with a bloody straight guy who screws all women around. He felt like a friggin loser who can't erect seeing a guy, so he decided to be the sour prune. Than he happened to be influential so it became a crime eventually. Imagine the King of an ancient land. He says gayness is the key. All humans there would turn gay and it'd be normal.

Honestly because we have been told it is wrong so much. It takes a lot to finally stand up and admit who you are. And still then you get people that tell you every single day how much they hate you when they don't even know who you are inside. You know people have been killed simply becase they are gay - that is scary. I am completley out now and very happy and even proud of myself and the life I have created.

You know I have never done a single thing to you, never said a cross word, never even looked at you harshly. If I saw you in need and I could help I am the type that I would offer. But yet you hate me because I am gay. If you are being really honest doesn't that seem just even the tiniest bit wrong?

Why hide it? Because at this particular time in history, religious bigots are respected in mainstream society and enjoy persecuting gay people.

This will not last, though. "No lie can live forever." Society will eventually acknowledge what many of us now see so clearly: homosexuality harms no one. It is not "the reason for AIDS and HIV." It did not create the HIV virus. It is natural and unworthy of the persecution of those who trade the freedom to think clearly for the comfort of ancient superstition and unjust prejudices. It is not gay people who are immoral but their persecutors, who seek to ruin the lives of their fellow man and deprive them of their inalienable natural rights simply because some ancient books written by fools and bigots say being gay is wrong.

Interracial couples were once afraid to walk down the street together in certain parts of the world because some people were opposed to mixed marriages and considered "miscegenation" immoral. We've grown up since then--well, much of the world has, not all--and I have no doubt that we'll grow up some more and accept same-sex couples. Some sooner than others, but eventually all.

When people come out of the closet they potentially lose things like friends, family, and jobs.Even in this day and age people have a lot to lose and many members within the GLBT community are simply not able to risk so much in order to be honest with people about who they are.

Imagine you are a Jew in Nazi Germany during WW2.Somehow you managed to hide it.Would you risk everything to lose your job, freedom, and life?Though it may not seem that this example is good example the fact is that any group of people who face discrimination for just being who they are is just like that. And during WW2 many homosexuals were also put into concentration camps and murdered.

"I still hear people say that I should not be talking about the rights of lesbian and gay people and I should stick to the issue of racial justice. But I hasten to remind them that Martin Luther King Jr. said, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." "-Coretta Scott King

If happiness was good, there'd be no sadness. If peace was right, there'd be no war. If marriage were good, there'd be no divorce. Any of these make a lick of sense to you?

The reason people hide is because there are potentially severe consequences that come from people who don't understand. The problems belong to society, but we're the ones that have to be ready to deal with them.

We hide it because ignorant people like you hate on us. Some even try to kill us simply because of the fact that we're gay. We're afraid to come out because of religious persecution. If being gay is a choice, fine, but so is religion and it's still protected under the constitution.
We're afraid to come out because some people don't know what it means to "tolerate" or "live and let live". People fear what they don't understand, hate what they fear, and kill what they hate. Bottom line, end of story.
You got any other dumbass questions you want to ask?

First and foremost, let me suggest, this is a 'fantastic' question.

In my experience, and in my opinion, I hid my orientation for years. I went through the 'Catholic' expectancies of meeting a girl, falling in love (ugh - yeah right) .. and finally getting married and of course, yes, I sired children as well. Regrets ? Absolutely none!

Why didn't I just 'come out' and save myself that grief? Again, first, there really was no grief. I love my ex-wife and my children are my world. I chose NOT to come out at that time, because I was afraid of rejection. Not to myself - but to everyone around me.

I feared that if the world knew, no one would love me, nor would they want to have anything to do with me. Fear was a big thing to me then, but now, that I stopped fearing myself, and accepted myself, it made it much easier for others (gay or straight) to accept me.

Now I'm free to be myself. I love me, which makes it much easier to accept others for who they are NOT what they are.

I hope ANYONE having trouble with their orientation is able to catch the slightest comfort with this response.

Cheers

I think you've answered your own question... because you, and people like you, are passing judgement on others not like you. I am surprised your friend is still your friend... or is he? Have you discarded a friendship because your friend is doing something you consider "wrong?" Hmmm... maybe gays and lesbians have been fighting this battle for years and just don't want to face you or people like you with your pious judgemental attitudes...... not to mention the loss of your love and affection... for being who they are.
