Have you ever had one of your teachers at school say that when there is a pep rally during the last 30 minutes of school, she would leave after school but not right away and then she leaves anyway?
That's what just happened to me today. After I get back from the pep rally, She's gone. And she has my bookbag with the homework that I'm supposed to do tonight for Algebra, Locked in the room! So now I can't do my homework and turn it in and get a good grade on it. (Just so you didn't notice, this is something that I am not happy with) So now I have to wait until monday because tomorrow is a progressive teacher planning day for Hillsborough County, Florida schools. Does anyone have any tips on how to get over this Frustration? Please be serious.

Oh my, the lessons of youth are hard learned aren't they?

You should know by the time you reach high school that YOU are responsible for your belongings...no one else is. I would venture to say that you were probably not in any big hurry to retrieve your possessions after the pep rally. Expecting a teacher to look after them is a bit presumptuous and out of line. They should have been stowed in your locker. I also agree with a previous answerer that you're making up excuses. Place the blame where it belongs and it's not on your teacher. Her job is to teach you a specific subject, not to babysit your bookbag.

If there's no one around the school to unlock the door for you.....tough! Be responsible next time!!

Why is it not possible for you to borrow someone else's book and get the list of problems from them?

Failing that, have you had a chance to talk to her about it? If so, just explain the situation, that you thought you would have enough time to get back to the classroom and retrieve your bookbag. Be prepared for her to ask why you didn't try alternatives like the one I just suggested.

If you really do not have any other options for getting the assignment done, and she gives you a zero for it, then you should complain to an administrator. It's not right for her to trash your grade over circumstances like this, when you should be able to take her at her word. If she says, "it's only one assignment", that's not good enough and misses the point.

Why didn't you go to the school office, they have spare keys? I'm not trying to be smart. Try to find an alternative way, is there a copy you can make from a friend. If you've tried everything well then go do something to take your mind off of it. Good luck.

You should have been smart and asked one of the Administrative staff or the Janitorial staff to open the room for you. I don't think they would have had a problem. You're just making excuses.

Maybe find a janitor or something to come unlock the door for you. Someone else should have keys right?

i would tell the other teachers who are expecting your homework on time EXACTLY what happened. in fact, why don't you look up your teacher's number right now and call her and tell her you need your books. get her phone number in any way possible: a staff directory, phone book...whatver. good luck
