A better question is, why do so many not take marriage vows seriously? A vow is only as good as the personal integrity of the vow maker. I do take marriage seriously. God ordained marriage in the garden and Jesus Himself did his first miracle at a wedding. So yes, my marriage vows are very serious to me because they are serious to God. Marriage holds society together, subtract one parent from a home and you end up with the chaos that is America. Dissolve every marriage in the world and you are left with something very ugly. Vows of any kind today are disposable because we have raised a generation to believe we evolved from monkeys that have no accountability to a higher moral standard. We have foolishly set ourselves to believe that we are the law makers and so can do whatever is "right" in our own eyes, even breaking the most important vow among the sexes, marital commitment.

I have conducted many marriages in the past twenty years. I have 20 years of marriage and couples counseling experience and have come to find that, sadly, very few people take their marriage seriously.
Affairs, Threesomes, incest, lust..............everywhere you look people are shown other half naked people .....causing many to go astray ...because of the issue of temptation.
Many are more into their cars, homes and Jobs than their spouse.
What I do know however is that I am blessed to have such a wonderful God given companion to share our lives together with.
This can be a wonderful world of love and marriage, if people would simply treat their spouse the way that Jesus treated people......with LOVE, uncompromising, all given unconditional love.
AS to the issue of why YOUR always getting hit on well. It has to do with the socical climate of a Mans journey in his life. Perhaps these perverts are trying to find out if they "still got it" or are going through some kind of mid life crisis ...on the other hand, however. How do you dress? Many young women today dress much like (EVEN worse at times) what a 20 dollar a day hooker dressed like 30 years ago. Please understand, I am NOT calling YOU a hooker, simply stating the obvious.
Not all men cheat. But not all women make it easy for these simple men to stay sane and with a proper attitude of fidelity.

I agree with you.
Many people are taking marriage far too lightly. They see it not as a commitment but as, they have someone to cook for them so they can go out and have fun and meet other chicks. I'm disappointed by cheaters because a marriage is a tag team, a compromise, a commitment, and if a person doesn't know how to commit then they shouldn't say I do.
I, too, feel terrible when being hit on by married men.

I completely agree with you. Marriage has become a joke in our culture. I was raised to honor not just a marriage, but a commitment. It is very sad that getting a divorce is almost as easy as picking up some milk from the store.

Not all men cheat. In fact, most don't. I'm in no way saying it is your fault, but where are you that so many married men are hitting on you? I'm sorry if this puts you in an uncomfortable position.
