I found no references in the English dictionary for the word "challan", yet here in India the word is commonly used.I found this word in abundance even in government and private websites.Would this word be a new additon to the English language by us?

Challan means the requisite form filled to pay cash,cheque,Demand draft in a bank,tax department,government office etc.This also means in simple terms official receipt of payment.

Different translations of the bible would suggest love and charity are synonmus. Examples found in.1st Corrinthians ch. 13 vs. 1-17 illustrate this many times. I would enjoy hearing from a scholar of the languages used in those past times to clarify my understanding. The story of the "World's Poorest Philanthropist", Gilbert "Harold" Ewing II (myself) is the reason for this querry. The " act of grace", or charity, reffered to in the news interview, has posited this question and I lack the sort of education to provide any insights of true value.

In India in some government departments, To the receipt they call it "challan".

I do not know much about it, but the IRS will. It is a type of deposit and the terms is used in tax work. It is necessary to have a challan serial number and a TIN to make these deposits. The bank has to be involved and it needs to filed differently on your taxes.

Maybe the IRS web site can give you a better definition.

Challan simply mean an official receipt or the receipt of the deposit made.
