Use speach marks for names and sentances that you do not want the search engine to break up and minus signs for words you don't want to see and plus signs to narrow a search

for example

"Sarah Jane"-surrey+sussex
This will help you find Sarah Jane from Sussex but not a Sarah jane from surrey

Use the advanced search options. This provides you with Boolean search capabilities. It allows your to include only a specific combination of words or omit others.

If this is too complicated the alternative is to place inverted commas around your phrase of interest. This means the engine will only search for those words in that exact juxtaposition.

The advanced options also allows you to search among specific net addresses, e.g., only .co.uk, etc

Hi >
Be VERY specific in your search on the net.
If you type in "Clogs" for example, you may well have 200 items of stuff.
If you say, put in "size 7 ornate wooden clogs, with a purple trim", you may get none at all.
But it seems to work better.
Somewhere in between then.
