I am looking for a hand held carpet scrub brush. The scrubbing head is screwed on to a plastic bottle?

You can find them in the Car section at Kmart or Walmart.
I suggest buying a second brush though... they don't work as good when it's connect to the can and it's very cheap.

tide has a small one run on a battery great for trouble areas. go to tide . com
