I think I might be pregnant. I took a test and it came out negative.. but I'm not due for my period for another week or so. It might be too soon to tell. But in case I am..

I have been moving boxes, I mean they are not too heavy, but a little. I know when you are pregnant you are not supposed to lift things like that. If it turns out that I am pregnant, could lifting boxes hurt the baby?

Pregnancy symptoms differ from woman to woman and pregnancy to pregnancy; however, one of the most significant pregnancy symptoms is a delayed or missed menstrual cycle. Understanding pregnancy symptoms is important because each symptom may be related to something other than pregnancy. Some women experience pregnancy symptoms within a week of conception. For other women, symptoms may develop over a few weeks or may not be present at all. Below is a listing of some of the most common pregnancy symptoms.

Implantation Bleeding:
Implantation bleeding can be one of the earliest pregnancy symptoms. About 6-12 days after conception, the embryo implants itself into the uterine wall. Some women will experience spotting as well as some cramping.

Other Explanations: Actual menstruation, altered menstruation, changes in birth control pill, infection, or abrasion from intercourse.

Delay/Difference in Menstruation:
A delayed or missed menstruation is the most common pregnancy symptom leading a woman to test for pregnancy. When you become pregnant, your next period should be missed. Many women can bleed while they are pregnant, but typically the bleeding will be shorter or lighter than a normal period. This symptom is commonly explained by other reasons. If you have been sexually active and have missed a period, it is recommended that you take a test

At this stage in your pregnancy no, it wont hurt anything. The egg is barely implanted if at all.

You cannot test until youre late for your period. The tests that say that you can test 4 days early are only 60% accurate with some women. A blood test at your doctors office should come back with an accurate result by now.

You dont want to lift more than 25-35 pounds once you are through your first trimester. By then the lifting causes you to bear down and to stress the muscles of the stomach, which can be too much for your uterus to handle.

If you've been lifting those boxes since before you were pregnant you are esspecially okay. :)

No, lifting boxes wont harm the baby but if you are pregnant you could end up having a miscariage and I hope you dont want that. I suggest you take a pregnancy test right away and stop lifting up boxes until your sure your not.

No, lifting boxes won't hurt your baby if you turn out to be pregnant, especially at this stage of development. Talk to your doctor, and he/she'll be able to give you all that information, but your baby is very well protected in there. I've heard of mothers who have fallen down flights of stairs while 7mos pregnant without harming their baby.

When I was pregnant, I was very active. For my job, I had to lift 20 lb bundles of newspapers all the time. I did that up until the day I delivered, and it was perfectly fine. If you're really concerned, get someone to help with the heavier stuff, but really, don't sweat it.

No, not really. Before i found out I was pregnant, I traveled through 4 states via the greyhound, lugging huge suitcases that weighed over 60 lbs apiece and we survived it.

No you are fine. As long as they are not over 40lbs, and you are not lifting them freguently. But 20lbs you can lift throughout most of your pregnancy.
