anyways...my period hasn't come & it's oct. 12th...i took a pregnancy test yesturday & it came out negative. it's so weird cuz i feel as if i have my period cuz i have on & off crampage. i know stress can stop one's period & i have been under soooo much stress l8ly...but stress never seemed to stop my period b4. can something else be wrong w/ me? like i dunno...stupid question but could too much sex like hurt me internally in anyway & like assure that i won't get my period?

i'm like really worried even though the test turned out neg. i'm thinking about taking another test tomorrow morning wat do u think?

anyways i really appreciate ur thoughts...please help me. being sexually active is still new to me.

Hi, your correct in saying that stress can interfere with your periods. You could still be pregnant even though the test is negative as the hormone levels would be very low at this stage and pregnancy tests can be unreliable in early pregnancy.

My advice to you would be to wait a week or two then re-test. You will only torture yourself if you keep doing tests everyday. Hopefully your period will come in the meantime but dont rule pregnancy out yet.

Hope this helps.

If you followed all the instructions I think it is unlikely you are pregnant. It is true stress does effect your periods. I used to be as regular as clock work, then I got stressed and things went very wrong, in the last 18months I think I must have done about 4 pregnancy tests out of paranoia.

Things are evening out now but at the time you take a test convince yourself you must be pregnant cause you could set your watch by your period and then its negative and you don't believe the test.

Wait a week if your really 3 days over its unlikely the test is wrong, I always tell myself wait another week and sure enough that other week never gets there cause my period comes.

I know its hard but wait chill out. If your not pregnant and this starts to become a regular thing see your doctor mine was great had blood tests and examination, helped put my mind at rest.

Good luck x

You really could be. I had negative tests until I was 3 months pregnant with one of mine, also my doctor told me that a negative test is only 65-70% accurate whereas a positive is 99% accurate.
Also though sometimes the most regular cycles in the world go mad for a month or two, so it might just be something like that, the cramping is hard because I get that when I am pregnant aswell as when I am due on. Do you feel really cold or have you noticed your sense of smell heightened? God bless you and care for you if you are pregnant. Believe me it isnt the end of the world that you think it might be, more like the beginning! (I have been in your shoes once!)

You are only 3 days late for your period, I would retest in another day. Some home pregnancy tests require more HCG (pregnancy hormone that doubles every 2-3 days) to be in your urine than others. I would recommend First Response (per my fertility doctor) it has fewer false negatives and detects the HCG at a lower level than other home tests. If all else fails, and you feel pregnant, you could request a blood draw to confirm your suspicians at your Dr.'s office. The blood test is more accurate than any home test, and depending on the numbers they can even estimate how far along you are (If preg). Hope this helps.

It would be too early for a pregnancy test to show a result. Also, it would be more accurate for you to determine when your period should start based on the number of days between the beginnings of periods instead of the day of the month, since months vary in the number of days. For instance, you call the first day of your period day 1, and you might find that your period generally starts around day 25, which would become the day 1 for the next month.

No, 3 months ago I missed my period by 2 weeks. I took 3 tests, and every one has come back negative. Ever since then, my periods havent been right. I am due on my period now, but I am still waiting for even the slightest feeling of cramps. Dont orry, if you took neccessary precaution during sex, it is highley unlikely you are pregnant. Hope it helps XxXxXxX

it may be too soon for a regular pregnancy test to detect a preganancy...thought there are several types that detect a pregnancy hormone, and thouse would be useful. i dont understand, if you had intercourse yesterday then why are you worried that you missed your period for 4 days? periods can be delayed for other reasons as well...but this doesnt mean you should take this lightly. go and have a check up or something. also if you had sex yesterday without protection it may not be too late to take the day after pill.talk to a pharmacist about it.

i don't think that you are, i have been late that many times and took a test and it came up neg and i wasn't. your hormone levels have to be about 25% for most test to tell if you are. if you are 3 days late and the test came up neg then id say your not. but go see your GP just to make sure. it will put ure mind at ease. good luck.

on the one hand you could be pregnant, on the other, no you aren't... the otc tests are usually only accurate after you missed you period for 2 weeks so three days is too early to know. if you are really worried make an appointment with your doctor, he or she will be able to do more to answer this question.

I wouldn't start worrying about 3 days late, really. I've been a week and a half late before, not pregnant. Don't stress over it either, because that can prolong your lateness. Just chill, relax, wait for it to come, and if you're 2 weeks late, then maybe start to take tests.
