I just bought an mp3 palyer and i'm disgusted with the battery issue. It's probably going to last me about 12-18 months and then I have to ship it out, pay about $50 for a new battery, plus shipping charges, spend about 2 weeks w/o the mp3 player. Why don't they make players with batteries the consumer can replace. What a racket!!

An mp3 player can be really worth it, depending on how much you need electronics and technology (particularly computers and digital cameras) in your life. An mp3 player is really useful for those things, because you can use most types of mp3 players as a memory stick (also known as a pen drive, flash drive, memory key, etc.) to store your stuff.

Since I don't know what kind of mp3 player you have, I really can't help you. However, most mp3 player batteries last a VERY long time (rechargable), on many recharges, before the battery gradually dies. I'm not that into music, but I still find my iPod shuffle indispensible; my friends tease me that I literally bring it everywhere with me.

Yes its worth it if you want a cheaper portable music player. If you want an ipod it does cost more money but they work really good. But an mp3 player is fine and you may even find another one you like and buy a new one instead of replacing the battery. Yes, i do agree with on the battery life and you can also buy a kind of mp3 player witha replacable battery.

The RIGHT mp3 player is worth it. I can't get through my kid's sports games without something to listen to.
