when i started up on the internet i did'nt know my username would be displayed when i am on the like's of e-bay.which is my full name.and i dont feel safe everyone seeing it.

Just change it - you can get in to profile on Ebay and change things. It's same with most sites. It is a good idea to keep your suranme off the net and don't mention the town you live in either. Just make your user name famous or infamous as the case may be - the latter in my case! lol

It really depends on where you're using it. Some sites make it easy to change the appearance of your screenname, for example, I can change the name displayed on Yahoo Answers whenever I want. However, my account will remain the green_meklar account, so I'll still have to type that in to log on. Most other sites are more restrictive, but if you want to change your screenname you can always register again, or contact the site operators and ask them how to change it.
At any rate, if you're wondering whether there's some sort of master switch for changing your name on all the websites you've registered on, no, there isn't.
