Are you on dial up?
Some dial up companies will cut you off after a short while especially those that charge for connecting you.

If you are connected with Ethernet wire, then your network cable is probably loose (but still attached). Hook it back in firmly.

If you are connected wirelessly, then you have a weak signal and need to move your computer to a different place where there is a stronger signal.

If you are connected with a dialup modem, and if you have call waiting, perhaps someone is calling your house and disconnecting you, in which case you should disable call waiting when connecting to the Internet (dial *69 first, I think?).

Hope this helps! Or at least gives you other ideas!

Not sure what your connection is. If you are on cable of DSL, try resetting your modem. Doing this should provide you with a new dynamic IP address. I had a similiar problem awhile back and doing so corrected the problem.

What Ho !
Good to do virus scans, set up firewalls etc, but if your ISP is dissapearing every 20-odd minutes. It is probably either your provider deciding to go to sleep, or a localalised software hiccup..
Give the whole system a kick up the what-not by running something like Norton Utilities. (Worth installing & cranking up)
It finds all sorts, and often sorts them out.

All the best....
Bob.

If you have a dial up connection or ADSL it could be the auto disconnect option in Internet Explorer in Tools Options, Connections. Check to see if it is enabled and if so disable it but be aware you're connection will alwys be on.

Your access numbers could be a problem...check if they are in your area code....If its not that then it could be your computer ...I really dont think its the internet service....I have juno that's like 10 dollars a month....And it has never dissconnected me like that....Hmm and oh it also could be that some one else is logged into your account at the same time..
