I know he died October 31, 1926 of peritonitis. Some students with him were asking about his ability to take puches to the abdomen. He wasn't paying attention, and one hit him. His appendix was ruptured, and infection resulted. He fought it for days, but at last, he told his wife that this thing was going to get the best of him. He was born in March I think, but I forget the exact date. William Hjortsberg teamed Houdini with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in one of his suspense tales. I wrote one titled "1926: Buried Alive" with Harry Houdini the great magician teaming with Eugen Sandow the great strongman who died shortly before Houdini did. Both men used stage names. Harry Houdini was born Ehrich Weiss in Budapest. His stage name was copied from French magician Robert Houdin. Eugen Sandow was born Friederich Mueller in Koenigsburg, East Prussia in 1868.
