if you have an american express card, depending what level you have, you can request them to do it for you.

If you know someone that works for the company selling the tickets they usually get an advance purchase code. Like ticketmaster for instance sends out emails to its employees with advance purchase codes and then you can go online to their website and purchase them early.

live nation gives passwords to selected events to use on presales along with some bands give passwords for their fans to use
