Does the candy still have rum in it or does it evaporate while heating the chocolate?

If they have to ID you to buy teh candy then no i wouldnt...as that means that the alcohol content is that of buying in a liquor store. But if its regular candy, i'd have to assume that the alcohol has evaporated and its fine.

Check with your OB to be sure.

It is perfectly fine. It has rum flavoring, not actual rum in it (otherwise there would be a lot of drunk 7 year olds running around with ice cream cones) It's fine to eat any food that is cooked with wine, beer, or liquor while you are pregnant (the alcohol cooks out) as it is fine to eat anything with a spirit flavoring.

If the chocolate doesn't give you heartburn, you'll probably be alright. I'd stay away from tooo many of them, as the chocolate doesn't get hot enough to evaporate all the rum.

IT should be fine, most doctors will even argue a glass of wine a day is ok, but that is very contriversial. the truth is they do not know how much or how little alcohol will effect the baby, but no more than you will get from a rum soaked raisen you get that much out of most cough medicines

Yeah that's cool, don't make it a habit though, and don't eat LOTS of rum soaked raisins. Just a few here and there as a treat.

Sure. The volume of alcohol would be so low that it wouldn't matter. French women often have a glass of red wine each night and that doesn't cause any problem. It wouldn't be regarded as abuse.

Just no shots of Jeagermeister until AFTER the baby is born!

It is so safe I'll come and eat them with you just to make you feel safe. daon't heat the raisins, stir them in when the choc is warm but they are cold to seal all that lovely rum in.

Yea I would not worry about it. The amount of alchol that might not have burned off, wouldn't be enough to harm the baby. If you are really concerned ask your doctor but you should be fine.

I actually am not sure but I say anything that claims to have any kind of alcohol in it stay away, if you can, until the baby pops out.:) Congrats!
