I am breastfeeding and I know there is something out there that I can get to keep my supple up while I am on birht control. I know that is starts with a B, but I can't remember the whole name of it or the web site. If any one knows what I am talking about please help. I want to keep breastfeeding.

What kind of birth control are you on? It's better for you to take birth control pills that DO NOT contain estrogen. Progestin-only contraceptives are the preferred choice for breastfeeding mothers when something hormonal is desired or necessary.

The number one way to boost supply is ALWAYS going to be to nurse more often.

There are herbs you can take. Fenugreek is a good choice. Be sure to read the info at the link below as some people should NOT take fenugreek.

The one you're thinking of with a B could be blessed thistle?

There is an herb you can take, it's called... Fennell? Or something like NO NO NO NO it's called Fenugreek. If you have questions on how you are supposed to take it, call those breastfeeding people from La Leche (they have a website you can find someone in your area) I talked to them when my milk supply was dying out. You take it and it helps soo much. Plus get yourself a hospital-grade breast pump. Pumping frequently works to increase your supply. (Frequently works much better and is more efficient than pumping a few times for a long period of time.) It's a lot of work kindof, but totally worth it.

Use birthcontrol that does not contain estrogen and you will be fine. They make a special pill for women who breastfeed.

when my supply went down, my midwife told me to drink a beer every evening and I would produce more--I did and it worked.

I though breast feeding stops your cycle. I know my doctor told my wife that, but maybe not everyone it the same.
