I know the combination seems a tad odd...
I need to find some sort of makeup that will work with both. Ive tried mauves and browns for the brown eyes, but that clashes with the red hair. Ive tried greens, but always end up looking fake.
Any ideas?

My hair has actually got a couple of shades of red in it. The under layers are more of a burgundy color, while the top layers are a dark coppery. The problem is, it was just recently dyed, so my roots are a much brighter copper, which is what looks funny against the brown eyecolor.

I have the same.
I use bronze eyeshadow. Has the brown but isn't dark like just plain old brown ....and the bronzing in it enhances the red hair.
And a light bronzing blush. It doesn't really give a lot of color but
highlights the cheekbones.
Usually a 'neutral' or 'nude' lipstick.

Brown eyes and red hair is a no no. The two don't go together, and it was a proven fact that the two are not found naturally on a person. I'm assuming you dyed your hair red or you got colored contacts?
You can try using some very light gold for an all over eye shadow and just some dark brown masacara, some tinted moisturizer for your face and some lip gloss.

The reason it's brighter on your roots is because the red is covering your natural color. Since it's copper I'm going to say your real color is blonde. Next time you get it done have them leave it on your roots for a bit longer, 5-10 minutes. I used to work in a salon and saw this happen sometimes and they always reapplied the color and left it on longer. There's more dye and a darker color on your old hair, so the new color is just covering over this more and making it more vibrant whereas your roots are just getting the first hint of color, not so vibrant (or the desired color).

My neice has red hair and brown eyes. She is gorgeous. She looks great in greens. As far as eye makeup the neutral colors look wonderful on her. I helped her with plum eye colors once when she was going to the prom and that looked great too.

I'd try maybe some blue, but real pale though. Or just find some really shimmery skin tone ones. They always work no matter what your hair color and eye color are. Or perhaps, just try some really light purples, like lavendars. Probably anything really light and shimmery would work well.

How red is your hair? A deep rich red? A hot red? For makeup ideas it really depends on the shade of red.

I'm in the same boat..red hair and brown eyes. I use shades of plum for eyeshadows, etc. They will make your eyes pop, where using browns definitely don't.
I've been using Arbonne's eye shadow, diva, and love it! They have a great selection.

Try blending peachy tones and brown for the eye shadow. Make sure you put it on lightly.

Bright colors. How about green, or white (not purely white).
