I find it interesting that not too long ago I was paying about $1.50 - $2.00 a gallon for gas, and then the price shot up to over $3.50 a gallon. Now the prices are back in the $2.50 range and I feel like I'm getting a bargain. Do you suppose there's any chance that that's what the oil companies had in mind all the time? And, yes, I think the prices will go up after the election. I'm looking for $3.50 - $4.00 by the middle of next Summer.

OK.. not to sound like a conspiracy theorist... but I have a theory - I think they jacked up gas prices to make Florida give into oil drilling off the coasts... Florida has always been against it.. but if gas prices got high enough the residents would agree with it... which is exactly what happened and then right after they got the go ahead the gas prices dropped.

Ok,

after summer ( except for last year due to the war and other world events)

but after the summer gas prices always go down, and right as it starts to get colder and heating oil and gas is getting ready to be used, it goes up and up alittle more around Christmas when people are starting to travel. Then in the spring it goes back down again and back up some in the summer

It has done this for 15 years or more, ( it will go up some and stay up to deal with inflation)

But of course it will go up after the election but not because of the election because it is getting ready to be winter by then

nicely i do no longer understand approximately 2004 and 2006 however the explanation oil expenditures fell this time is via the fact the commodities bubble burst alongside with the fall of the financial device and the crash of the inventory industry. This has diminished the call for for oil globally, even China! so because it incredibly is why oil expenditures have been falling. I advise OPEC diminished the production of oil and nevertheless oil expenditures are falling. So if huge Oil like OPEC have been decreasing expenditures on purpose, they'd not have shrink production.

Of course they will. It'll have nothing to do with the elections. It'll go up whether the Democrats or Republicans are in chagre. OPEC is already cutting back supply. Winter is coming. Demand will go up. Supply will go down. This happens every year, (even when Clinton was in office) so to try to make it a political issue is nonsense. It's economics. Not politics.

Absolutely. The Saudi's are just floating some election help to their buddy George. Once the election is past, back to $3 bucks, unless Bush attacks Iran, then $260 a barrell and $10 a gallon for gas.

If Demoncrats take control they will immediately raise tax on fuel, and impose stricter environmental standards which will raise cost of production. They will further restrict production which will decrease supply, therefore raising the price due to shortages also therefore increasing our dependancy on terrorist nations.
Oh, and President Bush will be blamed for all of this too....

YES! Winter is approaching and the Republican Party will no longer be fearing winning back congress and senate. I think it is fair to say that Big Oil Companies have benefited quite well with Republicans in Office these past years.

But, the excuses will remain the same................heating oil and gas demand , violence in middle east, North Korea fears, blah, blah , blah
