I'm not sure why they added it to black & orange - but yellow is also part of the color scheme now, too. I've seen houses done up with all the lights & stuff & it looks pretty good, really, but it's

same reason strings of lights are now part of Halloween. They are trying anyway and anything they can to come up with new products so people can make their homes as tacky as possible all year round.

Purple can look mysterious and spooky & goes well with black and orange.

PURPLE is a fall color too. PEOPLE just got tired of ORANGE+ BLACK.
