I don't want to half-@ss it by taking it off when getting in the car. I want ppl to see me wearing it at all times, so what should I do? Need more advice.

Sorry the only way I can see that happening is either you have a convertible or make some adjustments.
My idea is either that the top will come off or pull back like a hoody (hooded sweatshirt)
Otherwise maybe if you are making it you can have the face coming out of a hole closer to the top of the banana instead of so far down where there is too much on top!

Put the costume on after you arrive at your party or place.
