I`m afraid old computers are pretty worth less...even charity shops wont take them..if you can get anything for it I think you may be lucky..Technology today makes a new computer obsolete by the time you un wrap it..You could try E-Bay who know you could be lucky.

I've had GREAT luck posting items for sale on Craigslist...for some reason this seems to work FAR better than posting in the online forum of the National and local newspapers. You can add pics so that helps a lot. Just find the Craigslist group for your area and post away! (Oh and beware the money order/cahsiers check scam too!)
You can also offer it for BARTER on Craigslist - just list what you have and what you'd like to exchange it for, and I've seen really interesting barters on there! Scan the posts for yourself to get an idea.
Worst case scenario you can locate a computer store in your area that deals in USED equipment that may either buy it from you or allow you to sell it on a consignment basis. The advantange there is people come in and see your actual machine - and don't have to come to your house. Disadvantages of course are that you probably wouldn't get as much as if you sold it yourself.
Good luck!

There is usually a free classified ads magazine in almost every town in america, You can usually find it by doing a computer search. If not the newspaper will sell you a spot cheap. Other than that, wait till you or your friends have a garage sale, but you won't get as much money.

i'm sure you can make a few bucks by listing it on ebay, but you're gonna have to be accurate on the specs : i.e. processor type and speed, hard drive size, RAMs....and the monitor is it a flat panel? a flat CRT? you can get all that info right off the back of the comp and some in your control panel, but get it right or you'll be stuck with the thing being returned to you..good luck

go look around eBay for similar items
and even ask the sellers of these items questions..you can get a lot of information this way.
then put it up for bid, ( with a certain amount you will not take if it is under that dollars amount)
the buyer pays all shipping and boxing up the computer costs....
good luck...

I would try selling it locally on Craigslist if you can since computers are a pain to ship. Maybe try sticking an ad in your newspaper classifieds.

Try loot.com. You can advertise for free and you'll have a good chance of seeling it. Take a look at the current ads they have to get an idea of how much you can get for it.
