I have had this song stuck in my head for months now but i dont know the title. I believe that it was popular in the early 90's. it sounds like the chorus is saying "woah let me turn the lights turn down now" and it repeats twice.

Do you mean "heaven let your light shine down?" If so, the song is called "Shine" by Collective Soul and it was released in 1994. I posted the site where I found lyrics. Great song, by the way!
