As a physician after reading your question, I see other subtle issues. First, I recommend you examine why you hate doctors, you could even discuss your anxiety about the visit with your doctor, maybe he tells you what you dont want to hear... maybe you uncomfortable with sharing personal health information... etc.

The diagnosis of depression is made using criteria from a book called the DSM IV, you could google it or other sites on the web to read more about it. I dont think anyone on this forum can give you the diagnosis and most will just refer you to your doctor. Reading your question and other questions you've asked suggests that you have situational stressors that are likely a bigger effect on your mood. May I recommend going to the bookstore/library and view the self-help section for titles that help with stress and situational factors. DRUGS DON'T FIX EVERYTHING. Sorry.

You really should go to your doctor for a complete physical to include blood work to be sure there is nothing seriously wrong with you. Assuming you check out OK physically, I'd worry more about an anxiety disorder than depression. You seem to have many of the symptoms of an anxiety disorder (stomach aches, loss of appetite, feeling poorly, sleeplessness) People who are depressed usually over eat and sleep way more than they should. You are probably having trouble sleeping because you are worrying about things (maybe you boyfriend going to Kuwait?) Ask your doctor if he thinks an anti anxiety medicine would help you.

There are some natural way to combat depression, which it sounds like you've got. One good herbal is St. Johns Wort. It's available at any drug store. The stomach problems sound like some thing else, so it would be a good idea to see a Dr. They can also give you alternate ways of treating depression other than pharmaceuticals.another cause of depression could also be the physical health issue that might be at hand. Some times our mind reacts to illness in order to let us know there is some thing wrong.

It sounds like you are depressed, you should go to the doctor, take it from me, you`ll feel better with meds and therapy...doctors are here for a reason. Try yoga, praying and doing something enjoyable....write a journal , listen to soothing music... Good luck

it definately sounds like you're depressed... but the drugs aren't necessarily going to help- and in fact in some cases the use of antidepressants increases suicidal tendancies... instead of going to your general physician maybe you should seek out a psychologist- not psychiatrist. The psychologist would be able to talk to you, not examine you, and if after you have met with them a few times they believe you need antidepressants then they will refer you to a psychologist....

Good luck to you.

From what you described it sounds like you are depressed. You need to go to your doctor so you don't think about doing bad things. I knew someone who killed them self because they were depressed. Don't do that! Your friends will miss you terribly.
