I never looked for a job in my entire career, they approached me. Now at 62 no one bothers to answer my more than 60 apps for any job I apply for over the company internet site. Positions applications that these co's tell me is the only way to apply." THEY ONLY EXCEPT ELECTRONIC APPLICATIONS" Simple way to not have to talk to you??

Well, to start, use electronic applications. Put your resume into MS-WORD and send it to company's HR people. Add a line that you will be following up shortly via phone - then do so. Consider what you did for your company - you might try consulting. Check jobs websites advertising in your specialty and shoot off some more resumes. Keep trying. Some companies have electronic application forms to fill out in a form preferred by them. Do that too. Hey, good luck - the job loss doesn't indicate you aren't worth anything - it only indicates that you worked for a bunch of souless, money-grubbing S.O.B.s.

Yup, they don't have to face you at all. Do not mention your age in your applications, it is illegal to ask that question. Discrimination by age is not allowed.
