I love my job and have always loved all my jobs (If I didn't, I left).

I'm a writer and have worked as a journalist, an editor, a proofreader, and copywriter. There are really no negatives at all with the work I do; any problems I have are with people...usually because they don't care about their jobs--they just work because they have to. People like that cause problems for everyone else because they bring down the integrity--and effectivenes--of the group (or company).

I love what I do...I'm a Graphic Designer. The pros are that it's gratifying if you are a creative person...I like to have tangible evidence of what I have created. Great design is fun to create and fun to look at. There is so much crap going on in the world that having a fun job is important to me.

The cons are that a lot of people don't take it seriously. Even though I probably have more education than a lot of the people who are into business or sales or whatever, they still have this idea that I hang out and "paint pictures" all day. It is actually a skill that I have a masters degree in, and I take it very seriously. But trying to convince some "professionals" that my job is a serious thing can sometimes be impossible and it does get a bit irritating.

For the most part, yes, because I'm self-employed.
I work at home, don't have to answer a phone or greet visitors, can work at all hours and get to look for a product I love (books). And when I start doing postage and delivery confirmation at home, it'll get even better. Plus, I'm able to be around when I need to be around for my 6 year old son.

Bad news is the mailing end of it - if someone is unhappy with a purchase, a package gets misplaced or trashed, or no one is ordering/buying. Plus paying my own health insurance - ouch, and making frequent trips to the post office (though the workers there are great.)

Previously I was a teacher. I absolutely LOVE working with kids, (and teaching when you get the chance) but the politics was so heavy and I was on a hit list for a psycho principal (really, I'm not kidding). As my son was in the same school, I just couldn't do it anymore. We are both better off (albeit poorer for now.)

Ultimate goal is being a published author. Thanks for asking!

pros I work for my parents and they understand my illnesses and work out pay for me the con's are that it is a family owned business so it is hard for us to all attend family functions doing the week or to all get off early to attend something on a work night. Other Con is that we stay open until six on Friday's so it is hard to go anywhere on that night unless the event starts after 7:30 or 8:00 pm.

I love my job. I run a business out of my home, and I can come and go as I please. I don't have to even get dressed if I don't want to(but I do). I am here when my children leave for school, and here when they get home. I can have as many phone calls as I want, and people over, plus, the pay is excellent.
