I used to try a lot of products. When I became a restaurant manager I learned that one product handles everything well. That is AMMONIA. Sometimes I use regular, but more often I use the lemon scented, as the odor is not overwhelming and doesn't linger.

I use:

- bleach in the dishwater in addition to dish soap

- Comet for the bathtub and kitchen sink

- Lysol Toilet Cleaner for the toilet

- Lysol Disinfecting Floor Cleaner (lemon scent) for the bathroom and kitchen floors followed by a vinegar and water wash to tone down the disinfectant smell

- Simple Green for bathroom and kitchen counters and toilet seats

- a vinegar and baking soda solution for the litterboxes, window sills, and inside the fridge (for fridge spills I use a bleach and water solution on the spill followed by a wipe with a vinegar-soaked paper towel or cloth)

- vinegar in a spray bottle for all the windows and mirrors.

In the bathroom, I use Kaboom for tubs, sinks and toilets. I use Windex for the glass and Pine Sol for the floor.

In the kitchen, I use Clorox spray cleaner for the counters, refrigerator. I use Pine Sol for the floor.

I use Liquid Gold on wood furniture. On hard wood floors I use a cleaner made for them.

My favorite cleaning products are those that Don Aslett makes, but they have to be ordered.

Most item will clean great with white vinegar. For bath mats, I soak in vinegar and baking soda. Baking soda adds an natural acid effect. Thermos and crafts, etc. clean well with Efferdent. Slow drains clean well with Coca Cola pour in before bed. Next morning run hot water. Expensive cleaners and fragrances can be done much cheaper than you think.

I never use ammonia, it has too many dangers if used improperly. It also encourages pets to urinate.
Scotch guard is made with fish gills, if your cat is scratching your couch, check your cleaner.

To get pet hair and odors off carpet. Lightly sprinkle Borax detergent and spritz with diluted downy and water. Let dry Vacuum. Much cheaper than commercial carpet products and easier of allergies.

I use spraynine for almost everything. This is the best cleaner I have ever used. Can be used to wash walls, floors, all cabinets, kitchen sink, and counters. Wherever you see anything dirty, clean it with spraynine..I never knew there was such a good product out there. On all my glass surfaces, I use windex.

I use Vim for tubs and sinks, Windex for windows and toilets baking soda.(as I have a cat who sneaks drinks from the toilet and I don't want to poison him) I use water and vinegar for my floors, also for my cat as I read once cleaners can stay on their paws. I like the new orange Multi task Windex and sometimes use it for counter tops.
