A thread (in internet terms) are good things. They are topics that are posted on what's called forums are online newsgroups. There is a button in the forums called start new thread or new subject or new topic or something of that nature... I put a forum site below so you can see an example ok?
Have fun in the forums...
Andy...

A thread is a topic of discussion. In the days of Usenet, a collection of Internet discussion groups, before there were web browsers, you could post a message to a discussion group and any answers or follow-up posts to that message would make up what was called a thread. The term lives on in any online discussion format where posts are listed by topic and follow-ups to that topic. It's a good thing. Just so you know, the word "thread" is also used in computer programming, but that's just a piece of irrelevant trivia for you.

A thread is a discussion inside of a forum. It is started by creating a new post instead of replying to an existing post which would appear in the same thread.
So it is used to classify discussions, thus a good thing. :)
