Not likely. Is your husband of Ukrainian Jewish descent? That would make it more likely as the trait is strong in that community.

There is no way to tell for sure what he will get for hair color. Darker hair is more dominant in DNA, so his chances are higher to have dark hair like you. But it's really not a 100% guarantee. My sister has red hair and her first husband was Puerto Rican. We all assumed her children would have olive complexions and dark hair. They both tan well in the summer but are fair skinned the rest of the year and they both have light brown hair.

I wanted my daughters to have red hair like me, their father is blonde but red runs in his family too. My oldest is a platinum blonde and we won't know until the end of the month what the new baby's hair color will be.

I would say a very good chance. Brown is a dominant gene, but red is a rogue gene, same a blue in eye color. It's been awhile since life science, but my guess is better than 50/50 chance. I would say closer to 60 or 70% chance of having red hair.

Well that was the thing i was dreading when i fell pregnant, i wanted a girl more than anything and i said from the start i bet i have a boy and it has red hair, my god i was so right... But his dad had dark hair, but would never change the way my son looks at all as hes beautiful, even though he has red hair like me, but hes more strawberry blonde... Red hair is one of the strongest genes.. It dont matter what colour it is as when we get older we always colour it...

theres no way to tell.
I thought my daughter would be born with red hair as her father and some of his family are red heads but she was born with black hair that has now turned a nice chestnut brown not even a hint of red.x

i dont think theres any way to tell, you have 50-50 chance really,i have cousins with red hair but both parents are brunette and i have an uncle with red hair, whose wife does too, they have two kids with red hair and one brunette so i dont think other family members really count, you just have to wait and see!

Dark colouring tends to predominate over light colouring, as light colouring genes are "recessive" and dark genes are dominant.

Thats why if a blonde blue eyed person has kids with a dark haired brown eyed person the kids usually turn out dark haired and brown eyed (I know there are exceptions but they are rare).

My BF's dad is blonde and blue eyed and his mum is dark haired and brown eyes and him, his brother and sister are all dark like their mum. My mum has light brown hair and hazel eyes and my dad had black hair and brown eyes and both me and my brother have black hair and brown eyes like our dad. Strangely enough, my brother actually had dark blonde hair and blue eyes when he was born but he went darker as he got older.

I would imagine given your family have darker hair your child is more likely to be dark.

for me it depends in the girl. Like I might see a girl with black hair and also think she is totally hot however see a girl with blond hair that is meh and vice versa.
