Hi,

I am planning on applying for some postgraduate studies in the UK and am looking for the best universities in the London area. I want to study either transport planning or GIS.

Some places you might want to try that rate highly in associated fields (Geography, Civil Engineering, Planning etc.) in the London area are:
University of Reading,
University College London,
Kingston University,
London School of Economics,
Royal Holloway,
Kings College, London,
City University,
Imperial College.

Royal Holloway, Kingston and Reading are not actually in London, but are a short train ride away.

They might not all have the specialisations you're interested in, but you should be able to find something worthwhile on that list!

Docspiro has given you a good list, but he should have added London School of Economics.
