He may be eligible for SSA through the social security administration. You will need to contact them. The website is http://www.socialsecurity.gov/ You might also contact local parents support groups for ADHD/ODD and ED in your area. Someone there should know all the ins and outs of the system where you live. Please be sure to look for respite care for yourself.

Hi, I am also in Texas and I have an autistic child. My advise to you is to first work throught he public school system. Though it will a very difficult thing, it is the absolute must fisrt step in obtaining asistance. No one will talk to you about giving you money until you have exhausted the available resources.

There is a thing throught he school called "Nnon-ED Funding" Schools do not make it known and it's not something that they will want to give up easily.

My best advise to you is to hire an Advocate. I have one for my son who attends all of out ARD meetings. though I am knowledgable, the advocate knows the laws and helps me find things that I never knew were available for parents and children with dissabilities.

If your child has serious behavioral issues, it is possible that there is more than ADD going on. PDD, pervasive developmental disorder, is part of what my child has and it qualifies him for all kinds of special programs and funding.

I've provided a link to the advocates webpage that I use, if he is not in your area, he can likely provide you with information about who is in your neck of the woods.

GOOD LUCK!

Why yes, my students are ADHD, all get a check every month, $400.00 - $600.00 monthly all their services at school are free too. Have your child tested first, by his doctor, he will be evaluated, his test score, will determine what your check will be.
