Reality is,he wont quit. If you could get him to cut back, that is where you might have success. All things in moderation, but after he gets home from work, he should attend to is chores etc and getting high should be something to relax with in the eve, as a "treat", like a bowl of ice cream-which is the next logical step after catching a buzzzzzzzz.

Alcoholic - Potoholic: Too much of anything is still a bad habit. You're dealing with essentially the same thing as an alcoholic only slightly different symptoms.

I know what you mean about the dumb thing. BTW: pot stays in your system for up to 6 weeks.

He's going to have to grow up one day or he'll just be an old stupid potoholic. I once had an employee in his forties that smoked pot every night. At first, it didn't seem like it affected him. Later it was painfully clear it affected EVERYTHING - especially his judgement.

Now that your husband is letting pot interfer with your life...he should have 2 choices...quit pot, or quit being your husband. It should be an easy choice, but one that you may have to make for him.

Imagine how it will be in 20 years, assuming he don't kill himself and others in a car wreck, his mind will be gone, children will have a role model to follow...and you will have to be the bread winner as well. His mind will not regain it's ability when he punches the clock, and employers won't like that at all...he will not be holding jobs long at that point, and certainly nothing that pays well. You have a lot to look forward to there.

Is it affecting his job proformance or his ability to get a job? I know what you mean about DUMB. My brother has reached that point. He smokes so much weed that he can't remember if he's coming or going LITERALLY. But maybe you should try to catch him when he's not high and sincerely explain your concerns. Hopefully he will listen. My brther refused to listen and eventually lost his wife and children due to his addiction, but he was spending the families money for bills on weed. I'm so glad you don't have THAT problem.

Sounds like you havent been married real long or you just havent conveyed to him what you want and expect. You need him to just act a bit more mature and hes not responding....take him by the c__k and tell him what you think and lay down an ultimatum if you must. Its time to grow up and act like an adult....hell, all adults should keep their keys and important stuff in their pockets and organize themselves better. Good luck...Im sure all will work out if you just stand your ground and insist he act more mature.

Realize that people can't change just because you want them to. It was ok when you two got married, but now you changed your mind, and want him to do a 180 degree turnaround? Won't happen. Take over the bills, if necessary; you can't make him stop unless he wants to. Or, find a new husband.

basically you have a choice. to accept him for who he is - faults and all and don't sweat his smoking or don't and say that things have changed and you don't want to be in a relationship who is addicted to pot.

if you choose the second one be sure you can accept his choice and be prepared to stand up for what you believe in if he doesn't meet your standards.

You need to talk to him when he is not high. Tell him about your concerns and that the reason you are concerned is because you love him. Don't let him think you are being bossy because your not. I wish you all the luck in the world.

It is an addiction like drinking or gambling and is hard to break. Maybe he will get lucky and be arrested and while in prison he can break the habit.
