I am always cold even in summer I sleep with an electric blanket on high. Am I a freak or am I missing a health issue that needs attention?

It could be a variety of things. Anemia, low blood pressure, thyroid problems, or it could be nothing. Go see a Dr. to be on the safe side.

I don't know if this has been stated yet because I didn't want to read every answer out, but I know that if you are dehydrated, it can cause you to become cold. Water acts as a blanket in your body, running on low leaves you kind of bare. Try doing this, if you know that this is not the issue, please consult a doctor. You would rather be safe than sorry.

I'm assuming that you're not old? There are many issues associated with cold extremities. They are usually attributed to poor circulation. Low blood iron could be one possibility. Do you exercise? A sedentary lifestyle along with a poor diet does not help the circulation. It's not uncommon for women to have cold hands & feet, we have a lot more going on hormonally than men. You should have your blood checked with your doctor just to make sure.

Could be your thyroid. Have you noticed any hair loss, or dry hair? Check your temp first thing in the morning, before getting out of bed. For the next 3 mornings. If its beow 97.7, for those 3 mornings, then you could have low thyroid. If your hands and feet are cold, thats another sign.

Just an idea, something to try. If your temp is low, Id go to a thyroid specialist and have him run a test. Your OBGYN can do it too.

I highly doubt you're a freak. My mom is always cold and according to my dad, has always been like that.

It probably wouldn't hurt to have a blood test done to check iron levels and stuff like that. Low blood pressure can cause it, too, as well as having a very low BFI.

I used to be very thin (skinny if I`m honest) and I felt the cold something awful...I have put on weight the past 3 years and find now I am more normal (if there is such a thing) temperature wise...

You could have blocked blood vessles to your feet and hands
I went to my doctor for the same thing and that's what he told me.
you lose most of your body heat through your head, but a good portion goes through your hands and feet (nerve endings)
low blood flow too these places can cause you to be cold constanly.
But we have it good, because our feet don't sweat, so we don't have stinky feet, lol :)
hey polar baby, I do that too, My space heater is cranked right now
