Can anyone show me a link where I can find case law in Georgia defining a time limit where the 7th amendment, "speedy trial", is defined, or judged?

The best site is

www.lexisone.com

or

www.findlaw.com

I will say that the crime lab in GA takes about 6 months to get alot of the evidence back and the waiting time for trial of 18 months is normal and commom in GA.

There is no specific time ( as in months it can take) it is a motion that is filed to have a judge rule if in your speciific case is there a reason to delay the trial. and to try to get the judge to rule to start the trial.

The other party can present evidence as to why it needs to wait.

Actually, you would do your research under the U.S. Constitution. All state and federal court decisions, including Georgia's, would be gathered under that Amendment. But here is a recent decision.
