Well figure out the area of a square with sides of 4 inches, and figure out the area of the 8 inch square. Once you have those two area subtract them and divide the answer by the area of the original 4 inch square. That will be the percent of increase for the area.

Find the area of the 4" square which is 16.
Find the area of the 8" square which is 64.
Difference =>64-16=48
48/16X100%= 300%[answer]
