to make big money in a day you would have to have big money. a big poker tournament usually lasts more than one day so you really can't make it big with the time contraints of your problem.
the ony way to make it big would be to read someone's mind about something big going to happen the next day in the stock market. however you would have to have money to make money - what would $10k worth of shares make you over 1 day - nothing huge.
what could 1 million worth of shares be worth if you know that stock would rise 25% that day - 250k.
i'm sure if you thought about it for a while there might be some more creative ways - however i think reading people's minds for 1 day won't actually make you a millionaire.

You could find Steve Jobs, find out what features he's going to add in to the next Mac OS X, and sell the ideas to Microsoft!

you could probably use it to get peoples bank account numbers and then have all their money wired to some swiss account and then to a cayman account so it would even be trickier to track. Or you could get people's safe combinations and rob safes all day, you would know what their schedule was so you would know when the best time to rob them would be,

money isn't everything, but i'd probably go to a bank, or a financial advisor and ask the guys some gruelling questions about investment options...
yes it's boring but i wouldn't gamble or anything else, that's exactly what i'd do.

Find a bunch of rich people...read their minds to figure out what skeletons were in their closet...repeat those skeletons to them so that they knew that you knew...and blackmail them, ha ha.
