Also, I've heard that all babies born to down's syndrome couple's
have down's themselves, so is that right to bring a baby you know will have downs into the world?
It's not like dwarfs or midgets, where they can have full-size kids
or something.

I think it is fine for them to get married and live together as long as they had someone checking on them quite often but i don't think they should have children

I think it depends on the couple that fall in love. It is not up to you, the state, government, or I. People fall in love. And its their decision from there. People with Downs - 90% of the time have too many family and friends coming and checking on them. So if I were you I wouldnt worry my pretty little head over something that has no concern to you. In fact, they are some of the most loving, caring, and innocent persons Ive ever met. So why not pass those good traits along. This world needs A WHOLE LOT MORE OF IT. Theres too much hate and worrying about what your neighbors and others are doing. Be a positive American. Dont be be such a put down and a total jerk about something you have no idea about. And next time you want to post a question with "what youve heard" , look up more info on your own before telling us what youve heard.

Not only are you sadly misinformed, but you obviously have a complete lack of consideration for people with disabilities. Whether you like it or not, people with Down syndrome do sometimes get married and live together. You say you've "heard" that babies born to people with Down syndrome have DS themselves....where exactly did you hear this?? For one thing, infertility is frequently a problem with males who have Down syndrome. I suggest you get your information from reputable sources.

As for saying that adults with Down syndrome are not responsible...you are completely wrong!! Many, many adults with Down syndrome have jobs, some drive, most have graduated high school and more and more colleges are starting to offer courses for people with developmental delays. You are making HUGE generalities by suggesting that all little people (I won't use your insensitive terminology) are responsible and NO people with DS are responsible. As with any group in society, you have those who are responsible and those who aren't. I doubt seriously that you have ever even spent time with 1 person with Down syndrome and are making all your assertions out of complete ignorance. Perhaps you shouldn't be allowed to have kids unsupervised??

My son has Down syndrome. He will go to school. He will have a job. If he is able, he will drive. And I hope one day he falls in love and gets married.

I hope that in the future you will take the time to get your facts together before jumping to inaccurate conclusions. People with Down syndrome are, first and foremost, PEOPLE. They have the right to enjoy their lives as much as anyone, and if that makes you uncomfortable, then you need to seek help in gaining acceptance and compassion.

Most of the time it is absolutely necessary "to supervise" people with down syndrome. They can't live alone and function like a normal abdult. That doesn't make us Nazi's. I personally don't think they should be allowed to have children because they don't have the capability to care for a child. I think it's different than dwarfs and midgets because dwarfs and midgets Can live alone and function like normal adults.

I've heard that people who make factually inaccurate posts to "Yahoo Answers" make bad parents--is it right for these people to bring a child into the world?

I think it is not up to us to "supervise." This is not Nazi Germany.
