I did for the second season and made it through 3 different stages of judges and the judges right before simon, randy and paula said i was a great and talented singer but I just did not have enough confidence and the judges told me that is what randy and simon would had said too. they said paula would proably would had voted for me.

My friend did in San Francisco. The wouldn't let her audition in front of the judges though, because they said she was too good. Ridiculous huh? She's now staring in a musical called Beach Blanket Babylon in SF though, so she's doing fine!

I had a friend who did and she said that you must first audition in front of "1st level judges" and then if you are really good, or REALLY bad they will let you through to audition infront of the Simon and the others.
