Well, he was writing about the period during that period, so I guess he was impacted greatly. Keep in mind that Fitzgerald was an alcoholic, and during prohibition, he wrote of all the drinking goin on, so I guess he was trying to reflect the hypocrisy of the time, which he did very well. His novels, Gatsby, Tender ect, displayed great abuses of power also, which Fitzgerald seemed to have a grasp of, all of which became apparent after the Crash in 1929.

Umm, did you read the Great Gatsby?

He mimmicked the world at that time through his interpretation of that novel?
