willie= n
father= 2n-8

n+2n-8 Combine like terms,
3n-8

The sum will be 3n-8.

By the way, that's a really young dad.

Willie = n
8 years less = -8
Twice Willie's age = 2n
So . . .
Father = 2n-8
Willie = n

Combined ages:
2n-8 + n

ANSWER:
3n - 8

Also, Willie's father is not necessarily that young. My daughter is 17, so I'll use that for an example.

3*17-8 = 43
43 - 17 = 26 (IMHO, not that young to have a baby)
