I would advertise in your local classified ads or contact some pet shops in your area. I would NOT dump them in a lake, pond or river. You would be introducing a new species into the waterways and that would not be good.

Well, the other responder to this question is right. This is a very easily bred fish without much market value. However, contact local pet stores that sell live fish. They may offer to buy the young from you or let you trade them in for store credit. Don't expect very much money or store credit, though. Keep in mind that pet stores do not want really small fry - they will expect you to grow the fry out to at least an inch or inch and a half in length before they will take them. Do you have space to do this?

Another option is to sell the young on Ebay. Ebay allows auctions on live tropical fish. There is also www.aquabid.com for fish auctions.

There is little you can do to stop them from breeding aside from separating them. They are such prolific breeders it is pretty much impossible to NOT get babies if you have a male and female!

If you cannot find homes for the young do you have other fish that can eat the fry as feeder fish? Yes, I know this will upset some people but this is nature's way and what happens in the wild. Few fry in the wild make it to adulthood. I think this is better than just flushing them or otherwise killing them and disposing of them. NEVER let aquarium fish loose in the wild - in some cases these introduced species take over, outcompeting native species and messing up the natural ecosystem. You could also be introducing diseases that the local fish have no immunity to.

Do not throw them into a pond or river! Introduced species can become pests and throw off the natural balance. As many people said before, you may get some store credit. Or, you can just leave them in the tank and the other fish will eat the fry. Sad, but is mother nature.

I agree with Nunya. I had African Cichlids that did a good deal of breeding. Same with my betta breeders. I would take them to a pet store and get store credit. Most wouldn't pay cash, but it gave me free fish food and stuff for the longest time.

Good Luck

You can place an add at www.freecycle.org they are world wide and you can ask people to take the unwanted ones of your hands or you can try www.craigslist.org and you put them up for adoption there. They do allow you to charge an adoption fee for animals so if you want to sell them I'd try there first. The sites are free to join there only thing is no spam or stupid stuff.

Try to sell them to a petstore or ask if you can hang up flyers. There are sites that you can go to too. Don't ever let them in a river, not only can they add new diseases they can kill off all the native fish.

try to sell them to your local pet shop or give them to them. it is illegal to "Dump" them. you may be able to advertise them in the paper. Seperate the adults to keep them from breeding.

Just leave them alone, eventually the parents will eat the young.
