It depends on what the hospital gives you . If that formula is ok for the baby, then thats what wic will give you.

Depending on what your doctor recommends, WIC can approve you for a variety of things. For instance, my daughter was a little collicy so the doctor prescribed her Similac Alimentum, which ran us about 28 dollars a can, so we signed up for WIC. In order to get it though, we had to provide WIC with a "prescription" from the Doctor.
Alimentum is a very good formula, my daughter had no problems sleeping through the night after we got it along with Dr. Brown's bottles. I suggest speaking with your pediatrician since they know your infant, and letting them help you decide what's best for you to use.

I think don't know what they are using but if your baby does not do well on the formula that they provide, you can have your baby's doc write up a form to take to the health dept and they will give you what ever kind of formula the doc says he needs. My kids could only hold down Carnation Goodstart b/c it breaks down easier. I tried everyother kind for my daughter and it was the only one that worked. So, with my son, I didn't waste my time with the others. But, every baby is different and formula's have changed a lot just since my kids were babies. They are 3 and 4.

My baby got Carnation good start on wic that is the only formula you can get from them unless your baby is not doing well on it then you have to have a prescription from a doctor for another kind such as soy .Some states may be different but that is how it works where I live.

WIC will provide you with whatever formula your babys pediatrician says he/she should be on. Most hospitals will put the baby on Enfamil Lipil. It has RHA and DRA in it. If your baby needs to be on something else for health reasons then the pediatrician will have to provide a note to take to the WIC office and then all of your vouchers will have that specific formula on it.

WIC in Washington state only provides Enfimal formula. It hard to say which formula will be best for your newborn, because I don't know if your newborn has an allergy or intolerance to a formula.

WIC provided me with Similac Advanced w/Iron. If the formula that they allow you to have doesnt work well with your child, you can get a note from the doctor about what formula you should be using and submit it to WIC and they'll cover that one for you.
Good Luck!

wic provided Enfamil or ProsBee. ProsBee if I am spelling correctly is soy milk. You should breastfeed but if not possible Enfamil can cause constipation because it has alot of iron. Similac is what they give you in the hospital you should try to take as much packages as you can get in the hospital cause that is the best.

whatever your doctor puts your child on WIC will provide you with , my daughter has been through 6 different formulas with WIC and i've never had a problem with getting them to change it for me... however your doctor will need to write a presciption for WIC in order to change your formula. they will give you powdered or concentrate

I'm not sure what kind of formula WIC provides you with. I think it varies. However, I think that if you get an option, you should get one with LIPIL. It gives your baby the same kind of nutrients you get from breast milk to promote brain functioning and growth.
I use Enfamil myself. It comes in several different forms, and it's AWESOME!
