Four years for the BS in Social Work. You can actually be case managers while in college. That's a great step towards being a social worker. Case manager experience can substitute for the MSW. After the BS in social work, go for the masters and then you can be a social worker. About 6 years give or take.

About 6 years give or take a year.

Two good friends of mine are both social workers, and both went to college for four years and spent between a year and a half to two years getting their master's degrees in social work.

Hope this helps.
