Are There Apartments Near Ohare Airport (Chicago)?

Are there apartments right near Ohare airport in Chicago? I'm talking within minutes to fifteen minutes to the airport. I might be considering taking an airline job and perfer to live more or less right near the airport. Is the Ohare area of Chicago a decent place?

O'Hare is on the northwest side of Chicago. There is a large apartment complex called The Pavilion (as far as I know that is still the name). By car the complex is roughly ten to fifteen minutes from the airport, depending on traffic of course. I used to live nearby. From what I hear the complex was OK, but you have typical drawbacks which are unavoidable in large apartment complexes such as crowds, noise etc.

The neighborhood is fine, not extremely ritzy but not blighted either.

You might also look into apartments in Rosemont, that is also near O'Hare.

Yes. Elk Grove, Park Ridge, Rosemont, Bensenville.

Also, since the Blue Line of the L goes right into O'Hare airport, you may want to look at something within walking distance of an L station further in towards the city for more options.

O'Hare is technically in Chgo. but is actually surrounded by suburbs. Rosemont has few apts but Franklin Park, Norwood Park, Schiller Park, Harwood Heights and more upscale Park Ridge are all within a 10 min drive.

You can get to parts of Chicago in a few min also from Jefferson Park and Sauganash.

Get a Rand McNally or Chgo Tribume map. They are huge street maps that show every street of the area. There are a lot of apartments that are within a 10 min drive. Several more within 15 min....Desplaines, Palatine, Mount Prospect etc.

You can definitely find something in Wood Dale, Elk Grove Village, Mt.Prospect, Bensenville or Des Plaines. Check out Apartments.com they give you rent rates as well.
