It depends on how in depth you need to get. If you are a small business, ACT! is a good place to start. There is also Sales Logix and Sage CRM. I'm a consultant for Sage products, just FYI. Check out www.sagesoftware.com and talk to one of their guys. They might be able to point you in the right direction. If not, you can always use outlook for basic CRM.

Another good one is Interaction. The interface is not very good, but it provides excellent tracking of activities and allows you to relate events and matters to a contact. It is designed for professional services orgs.

Or make your own in Microsoft Access. Can get fancy and make a web front end for it.
