I would always translate before hand using an online translator like
http://translation.paralink.com/default.asp
or
http://world.altavista.com/
Neither are totally accurate but whoever you are writing to will get the drift.

I'd use the yahoo babel fish but That's only for up to 150 words. You can also translate entire web pages with it though.

hehehe try doing this...

find an online translator, translate something into another language. Then translate it back into your own language, then to the other one again and back to your language.

If it passes that test then use it, otherwise learn the language (they're great fun!)
