Also how did you get all your nutrients? I'm currently 7 weeks pregnant and I can't seem to eat or when I do I just want to throw it all back up. I keep my vitamin down in the morning with a glass of milk but that is about it. The only thing that seems to settle my stomach is potato chips and sprite and this is in no way healthy for the baby. I am going to discuss this with my doc at my next appt here in a few days, but I was just looking to see if you had any advice and what you did. Thank you for your answers.

I just kept taking my vitamins and drinking water all day long. I lost 7 lbs the first trimester because I was so sick, but the body protects the baby. Try to eat some jello. I was able to keep that down.

I was totally sick too for the first 5 months. I just tried to eat comfort foods - basically anything that sounded good and would stay down. Soup, mashed potatoes, cereal. Sooner or later you'll start to feel better and your body will get used to the hormonal changes. Don't worry too much, the baby definately gets what it needs from your body. Keep taking the vitamins!

Also, the Dr. can give you some medicine if you're really sick. I didn't ask for it, but I've heard it can help with the morning sickness.

I have found that if you take in SMALL ammounts of liquid at a time, you don't usually throw it up. Eat snacks such as grapes, watermellon, and strawberries. These will fill your stomach, and at the same time, nourish your body.
Take sips of gatorade, and fruit juices from concentrate always help. Avoid orange juice, because it is often too thick, and acidy, and sometimes causes you to blow chunks.
Take sips of 7up with some fruit juice mixed in...

Hope this works for you...
You will most likely loose a couple pounds. This is normal.

Sucking on ice chips is good because you get fluids slowly. You should really talk to your doctor about an anti-nausea prescription. I had days where nothing would stay down and I was so weak I finally asked for medication. I was on it until I was about 6 months along.

As for foods, experiment and see what stays down for you. Toast or crackers always worked the best for me, but it wasn't guaranteed.

Drink water! Eat as many fresh fruits and vegetables as you can stand. Try pasta! Snack on grapes, bananas, strawberries, etc. This is the time to begin spoiling yourself! Water and fruit juices (not drinks) are so important. Lavender is great to help relax your morning sickness. Good luck.

sprite or 7 up was about all the liquid i could keep down, as far as food saltine crackers, dry toast, chips. i couldn't even keep my vitamin down. the one thing my ob recommended that helped alot was taking dramamine tablets. they worked almost instantly. although i still got sick some, the nausea was nowhere near as bad as it had been.

Can you keep down water?? If so then drink that. But if you can only keep down Sprite for now then keep drinking that. If it becomes bothersome you can always go to the ER or just call the doctors office.
